Hi, and welcome! This site is the easiest way to see the visual history of the WTIT Tape Radio DJs over a 46 year period!  In 2012 we had our 45th Anniversary Show & Party. This is a formal shot for the 45th, shot at Kathy & Bud's wedding in October of 2012.  The story is on our website WTIT.net, and on our blog, WTIT: The Blog. Our photos are here! Just scroll down to see pics from 1967 to the present day. (We do have a view films & videos from 1969 to 1990 that have yet to be released.)  Glad you stopped by!

The Formal 45th Anniversary Shots (at the wedding)

We've done this pose since our first photo shoot in 1970. It's "Rubber Soul". We did it again for our 20th and 25th Anniversaries, and here again on our 45th. From left: The Cosmic Commando (in the 20th also), Galloping Gary (in the original and now here), Rock Rolling (In the 20th & 25th), Bud Weiser (in all), Johnnie Walker (in all) and The Midnight Plowboy (In the 25th and now here.
We did our first Abbey Road shot in 1970. We crossed Soby Drive, where our first studio was located. Here we are again, this time on Susan Circle (home of our current studio) but through the magic of photo shop, our photographer placed us on the real Abbey Road. From right: the first three DJs appeared in this order in the original shot. Bud Weiser followed by Galloping Gary and Johnnie Walker. Cos is next, followed by Rock & Midnight.

Here it is again, but while the photo at the top of the this post might change at some point, here's the original color photo on 20 October 2012. Shot in our latest studio, WTIT Studio 33 1/3. Standing Johnnie Walker and Bud Weiser. Seated from left: Rock ,Cos, Gary &Midnight .

WTIT Looks at The Olympics

When WTIT Tape Radio began, the guys recorded four or five times a week. We were in high school with time on our hands. Even when we had parties or dates, we'd interview our girlfriends. In fact, one time our girlfriends recorded a show totally without us. Bud's appeared as Sally Weiser, Johnnie's was Carol Walker, Gary's was Jill Townsend and Gypsie's was Sue Grillo. All our tapes still exist. We thought when we went off to college that we'd "outgrow" it. We did our first "Last Tape Show" in August of 1969.

As soon as we had a semester breaks, we were back at it. We'd record four days a week before we headed back. After college, we knew we'd never stop. Bud got married and the WTIT Studio moved for the first time. Recording became less regular, but still happened.

By 1985, we were back to weekly. First at The Braeburn Studio during Bud's first marriage, and through the end of his second marriage at The Turnbull Studio. Since then, it's a three or four times a year adventure. Bud (for reasons only he could explain) is getting married again. Kathy and Bud bought a home and Studio 33 1/3 was born. Rock Rolling, Johnnie Walker and Bud Weiser christened the studio earlier this year. Bud is on vacation and Johnnie is in town visiting. These picks are from last night's session that included WTIT Earwitness News report on the Olympics. Both decided women's beach volleyball is their favorite. They do not even understand the scoring. They know that there's a net involved and a ball. The rest is about watching these fine female athletes compete. Their favorite team? The blonde one. Here's the photos from last night. we will post the bit, later on.
We also still have our vinyl.

WTIT First Recording in 2012

WTIT has a new World Headquarters. Bud and soon-to-be wife Kathy, bought a house together in January. We call the new studio WTIT Studio 33 1/3. Bud Weiser, Johnnie Walker and Rock Rolling recorded the first session, WTIT Tape 571, on March 31, 2012. As we record during our 45th Anniversary season, Rock now celebrates 25. (Not bad for a relative "newbie"!)

Michael J. Returns to the WTIT Studio

Michael J. and Bud
August 5, 2010

While Mike only appeared as a WTIT DJ on a few tapes, most notably our 100th Tape Show in 1973, he was the "voice of WTIT" exclusively from 1972 until 1991. All show openers, program aids, promos and the like were voiced by Mike. Mike was the voice of the C-Span networks for their first ten years. He still is a much sought after announcer and news person. When Damon Scott took over in 1991, we still used Mike's voice to introduce our comedy shows. It just never seemed right without him. Even though Damon recorded the same opener, it was never used.

The Gatewood Studio 2004 to 2011

We moved into The Gatewood Studio in September of 2004. The WTIT Blog originated here in 2006. In 2006, the studio would have it's first Tape Radio show. That night included Johnnie Walker, Rock Rolling and Bud Weiser. The last show was recorded there in November 2011 around the time of Bud's 60th birthday bash. Harvey Wallbanger joined Bud in what turned out to be the Gatewood Studio's swan song. In January 2012, Bud and Kathy bought a house in the same town about five miles away. WTIT presently records in what is called WTIT Studio 33 1/3.
